Sea Gull Saddle

Last Sunday, I passed by Neopolitan Business Park on my way to Licao-licao trails.

I stopped at the bike parts vendor and looked at his wares.   I saw a Sea Gull saddle and asked for its price.  It's P550 only.  I bargained for one at P500 and put it inside my bag.  A Sea Gull saddle costs P1,300 in a Mall bike shop.

I installed it on my Dahon Speed Uno folding bike.

By the way, the saddles on my other two (2) bikes are Sea Gull as well.

Titan saddle

The MOB saddle on my KHS Alite SS rigid 69er was about to retire;  hence, I was thinking of replacing it with a Seagull saddle.

I was at John Wilkie in Concepcion buying inner tubes when I saw on display a red titan saddle, which is similar with Seagull and Tioga.  I asked for the price.  It's P1,200 - a hundred cheaper than Seagull.  Still have extra money, I bought it.

I love how it looks; and, it's half the weight of standard saddle.  After breaking it in, my butt is now comfortable with it.

The saddle of my TweetyPot (Marin Alpine Trail 20er) is damaged already.  But, I just secured it with plastic fasteners. 

While window shopping at a bike shop, I saw this fancy saddle.  After some thoughts, it's time to replace my damaged saddle.  So, I bought it.

Ouch!  My butt got sore while breaking it in.  I will try it for some more time and see if my butt would get use to it.

I bought a saddle from a street vendor along the road going to Timberland Height. The brand is Vader and cost P300.00 only, which I haggled from P400.00

It has a red color; so, and I thought of installing it in my red bike. However, I decided to use it in my orange bike.

Saddle puzzle

Last September 18, I was on my way to Timberland Heights when I had a minor fall. As a result, the saddle was disengaged from its rails. I tried to replace it; but, I couldn't despite several attempts. So, what I did was I went to a biking friend who lives nearby and ask for his assistance. Fortunately, he has a spare saddle, which he lent to me.

At home, I tried to analyze the situation. The saddle was disengaged without deforming the saddle nor bending the rails. Therefore, it could be replaced.


However, my first try was a failure and so my subsequent attempts. I tried all tricks but to no avail. I brought the saddle to a local bike shop; but, the mechanic there couldn't repair it too.

I followed the advices of my online biking friends - to do the bending technique. This did the trick.
