As part of my training, I'm going to do tomorrow the Novaliches to Antipolo to Mt. Maarat to Novaliches loop. This is about 68 kilometers.
My intended route:
Novaliches - Masinag - up to Antipolo via Sumulong Highway - down to Cogeo via Olalia Road - Cabading - up to Mt. Maarat - Timberland - down to C6 - Novaliches.
The distance from Masinag up to Olalia Road via Sumulong Highway is about 7 kilometers; while from Cabading up to Pintong Bocaue 4 kilometers.
If there's extra time, I'd side trip to any of the trails in Mt. Maarat.
I joined the Team Adventureros ride yesterday (October 16). It was spearheaded by JesterEdquilag.
The route was supposedly Marikina to Cabading, Antipolo to Mt. Maarat to Timberland, San Mateo. But, at Cabading the group agreed to deviate - from Cabading, we passed by Boso-boso and Binayoyo before proceeding to Mt. Maarat. It made the ride longer by about 6 kilometers. The new route has some stretch of trails.
From our place in Novaliches, I pedaled all the way to the meeting place in McDo - Sumulong Highway; then pedaled all the way back home.
The bikers: JesterEdquilag, Jepoy, Kakaiba, EpoyRufinoJr, CaloyPalaboy, Kaniboy, FlyPhotoGuy, MikeOk, and me.

Unfortunately, on my way out from Maarat basic trails to Timberland Height, I lost control of my bike and crashed. Thanks to the good Samaritans who helped me back on my feet.
There's a fun ride this morning to Licao-licao. But, it's too early; and, I woke up late again. I just thought of following them despite the more than an hour lead time. I was sure I could catch them; but, I hesitated. So, I asked myself, "Where would I bike?"
At 8:15 am, with no specific destination yet in mind, I started kicking the pedal. At the corner of Zabarte Road and Quirino Highway, the traffic light to left turn towards Pangarap Village, where the Licao trail head is, was red. So, I turned right towards Nova proper. I continued pedaling and ended up in UP Diliman (via Gen. Luis Ave. SB Diversion Road, Mindanao Ave., & Tandang Sora St.).
After making a few rounds, I exited and crossed to Balara and did some uphill climb at the zigzag portion going to Tumana. Thence, I proceeded towards Marikina City. I pedaled along J. Rizal St. Sumulong Highway and Fernando Ave.
It's lunch time; and, I saw the Tapsihan ni Vivian. I ordered a cup of rice and shrimp ala king.
While eating, I was contemplating where to proceed - Antipolo via Sumulong or Mt. Maarat via Cabading. At the Masinag junction, I decided the latter.
Resting somewhere along the Marcos Highway.
After an hour of pedaling the rolling highway, I reached the hottest part of Antipolo - Bgy. Inarawan. I was wondering where is Bgy. Inulanan.
And, I smiled upon seeing these signs.
While the City of Antipolo remind youth to shun from illegal drugs, it founded a school to teach them to drink. He he he . . .
At this juncture, I decided to turn back and looked for a re-hydration place. And, I found one with videoke.
Thence, I proceeded to San Mateo to climb Timberland Heights before going home.

While resting at Aling Tina's Eatery, my sanity came back and decided not to climb Timberland anymore but to go home. It's about 4:00 pm
It's a good and exciting 9-hour solo escapade of more than 80 kilometers.
It's another impromptu pedal all the way to and fro Antipolo City.
I was thinking where to pedal this morning when wifey suggested that we have lunch in Antipolo City. That's a great idea!
I left by bike at around 9:00 am; and, they followed by car an hour and a half after. I arrived at the rendezvous; but, they just left home. Meantime, I pedaled towards Hinulugan Taktak.
And, I did some uphill climb training
Thence, I went back to Cloud 9. They're already there.
Last Sunday, I pedaled from home all the way to Antipolo church and back.
On my way down along Sumulong Highway from the church, I felt something's wrong with my bike. I looked down and saw that my rear tire's soft. I dismounted and pressed it. It's soft, all right. I pumped the tire in the meantime and proceeded to my pit stop at the Cloud 9 Restaurant for lunch, which is just about a hundred meters ahead.
Before it got flat.
I arrived at the restaurant with my rear tire still hard. When I finished eating, I again checked the tire. It's now totally flat. I got my tools and patches. I checked first what's the culprit. It's a big staple wire that punctured the tire.
Since I bought my bike last June, this was the first time I experienced a flat tire. And, this was the first time that I fixed/patched a flat tire.
Looking for the puncture was somewhat difficult; but, I managed to do so after several attempts.
Today, I biked all the way to Antipolo Church. I left home at about 7:00 and arrived at the church after about 2 hours. This was the last part of my training for my dream Novaliches to Tuguegarao City ride six days from now.
