Accident do happen
Yesterday, I joined the ride organized by YummyNia. The route was Novaliches - Pangarap - Macabud - Licao-licao - Ricafort - Novaliches.
The ride was fun and uneventful until I crashed somewhere in Ricarfort. I was told by my companions that I was unconscious for about 3 minutes. I didn't remember what happened, why and how I crashed. My helmet was damaged; and, I had bruises on my knees and elbows.
I was brought to the nearest hospital, where my injuries were treated and my right shoulder x-rayed. Good, there's no fracture.
I got my cellphone and called my wife to fetch me. My bike was entrusted by BackRoger to one of the residents nearby.
After a few minutes, wifey arrived with my two kids. After settling my hospital bills, we went directly to the National Kidney and Transplant Institute for a CT Scan. Fortunately, the result was negative.
Accident really do happen. But, we don't know when and where. So, we should always wear protective gears, especially, the helmet. My helmet saved me!

Crash!
Before sleeping last night, I decided to bike inside our village for thirty minutes; so, I could sleep soundly. I used BikePot (my other bike). In one of the streets, however, the lamp post wasn't working and it's dark. While turning left, I didn't notice the hump.
Crashed! And, I fell with my left cheek and chin kissing the road.
I immediately stood up and assessed my conditions. I groped and touched my left cheek and chin. I felt some scratches. My left wrist and my left big toe are aching. There are small scratches on my left knee.
I mounted my bike and went home. I took a bath; then, hit the bed with pains.

My first bike accident
One place I go for biking is the Neopolitan Business Park. It's located at the back of SM City Fairview. The park has concrete pavements but no buildings yet. Thus, it's become the haven for walkers, joggers, bikers, and other physical fitness enthusiasts. It's about 1.5 kilometers from our place.
This morning, I biked to the park. I made several laps. I tried to count how many but got lost. I estimated it at around 10 laps. A lap is 1.1 to 1.3 kilometers. So, I biked around 10. 2 kilometers. And, that's about 2.5 hours.
After resting, I proceeded back home. Along Quirino Highway, there are pavements that have been bored in preparation for the repairs. It's bumpy passing over them and I tried to avoid them. I attempted to go the sidewalk. But, in process, BikePot and I fell. Ouch!!! I immediately stood up and looked around. Did anybody see me fall? Whew! Nobody's looking at me. He he he . . . I assessed my injury - an abraded right knee only. I also felt slight aching in both my wrists. And, no damage to BikePot except the misaligned water bottle holder.
When I got home, I immediately washed my knee with alcohol. Ouch, again! I'm glad, it's nothing serious.
This is my first accident since I started biking two months ago. Next time, I'll take extra precaution.
